Cataract Surgery Technology

Cataract SurgeryAlthough the skill of your eye surgeon is the first thing you should depend on for safe and successful cataract surgery, the quality of the technology and surgical tools are also incredibly important.

Dr. Brooks uses a meticulous small-incision, no-stitch, no-patch, no-shot technique for cataract surgery that is aided by the advanced INFINITI® Vision System and the OZil® Torsional Handpiece.

INFINITI® Vision System

The innovative INFINITI® Vision System is designed to provide highly individualized cataract surgery using torsional phacoemulsification. This technique has long been the industry standard, but INFINITI® features lower-energy ultrasonic tools and enhanced control over the procedure, allowing for:

  • Greater flexibility
  • Reduced surgical time
  • Quicker recovery
  • Minimal potential complications

By combining two unique energy delivery systems with unparalleled control of the emulsified lens and other fluids, INFINITI® gives Dr. Brooks the ability to tailor your cataract procedure to meet your specific needs.  Dr. Brooks has trained resident surgeons in San Antonio, Texas, how to use this technology.

OZil® Torsional Handpiece

The OZil® Torsional Handpiece is a revolutionary approach to ultrasonic lens removal. Torsional phacoemulsification is the process by which your lens is broken up and removed using ultrasonic energy. OZil® uses oscillatory movement that improves lens removal for a wide range of lens densities. The side-to-side movement of the OZil® handpiece also provides decreased repulsion, while at the same time improving the thermal safety profile of your procedure.

Some of the benefits of decreased repulsion include:

  • Increased followability
  • Increased cutting efficiency
  • Reduced potential for turbulence

Our state-of-the-art cataract surgery technology allows us to provide you with the safest and most precise procedure possible.
