iLASIK TreatmentiLASIK is the most advanced and accurate LASIK treatment available today. Using state-of-the-art technology, iLASIK allows Dallas ophthalmologist Dr. Dain Brooks to completely customize your procedure for optimal refractive error correction. In fact, iLASIK has shown to be much more effective than any other LASIK technique at producing a vision of 20/20 or better.

If you are considering laser vision correction in Dallas, Plano, or surrounding areas of Texas, please contact Brooks Eye Associates online or call us at (972) 736-9347 to schedule your initial consultation today.

WaveScan WaveFront™

iLASIK utilizes CustomVue WaveFront™ technology to provide remarkable results for people who suffer from refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. CustomVue scans the eyes to capture refractive imperfections with 25 times more accuracy than traditional methods of measurement. Information from this scan is converted to a map of the eye that is sent directly to the excimer laser used to reshape the corneal tissue. This enables Dr. Brooks to help ensure the most pleasing results – even in patients with more advanced vision imperfections such as halos and glare, starbursts, and ghosting.

Dr. Brooks will assess your vision problems and discuss what you can realistically expect from laser vision correction during your initial consultation.

Alternatives to iLASIK

Even with this advanced technology, there are risks associated with LASIK flaps. To avoid these complications, Dr. Brooks often recommends PRK as an alternative to LASIK surgery. Because PRK does not require the creation of a flap for corneal reshaping, risks such as corneal striae are completely eliminated. PRK may also be better suited for individuals who have not traditionally been good candidates for LASIK due to corneal thickness.

If you have been told you are not a good candidate for traditional LASIK or if you are interested in learning more about advanced laser vision correction services including PRK, please contact our experienced Dallas ophthalmologist  to schedule an appointment today.
