Meet Dr. Vishal Patel
Dr. Vishal Patel is a board-certified ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist known for his patient-first approach and clinical precision. He earned his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers. Subsequently, he completed his residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin, followed by a glaucoma fellowship at the prestigious Cole Eye Institute at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Patel’s interest in ophthalmology began as a college student, where early hands-on experience in a clinic showed him the profound impact vision care can have on people’s lives. He is particularly passionate about helping patients manage glaucoma and strongly believes in shared decision-making, taking the time to listen and explain treatment plans in a way that empowers each individual.
Fluent in Gujarati and conversational in both Hindi and Spanish, Dr. Patel sees patients at Brooks Eye Associates in Plano and Irving. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, playing guitar, and competing in pickleball matches with his wife.
